CityPOST buys postal service in Cork

CityPOST has announced the purchase of Cork-based postal service provider Document Express Postal Service (DEPS).

Ireland’s independent postal services company said the buy will guarantee business customers in Munster a further 20% saving on all other postal costs.

Established in 1999, DEPS has been servicing the business community in Cork for the last 11 years, providing document express and postal delivery services.

Ian Glass, managing director, CityPOST Group, said: "Cork and Limerick in particular are key target areas for us in terms of both investment of infrastructure and employment."

Established in 1987, CityPOST is a family owned Irish firm, operating its own national network structure with an emphasis on high quality, secure distribution.

The group employs 188 staff in Ireland and recently announced the creation of a further 180 new roles nationwide.

CityPOST also has a large presence in Portugal, where it employs 120 staff and was recently awarded a three-year contract for the addressed delivery of the Portuguese telephone book for the full region of Portugal and its islands.
