Around 400 staff at fashion retailer Jane Norman will lose their jobs after administrators failed to find a buyer for 33 of its stores.

The company, which employes 1,600 people in the UK and Ireland, shut all shops yesterday, becoming the latest victim of the squeeze in consumer spending.
