Mexico’s central bank governor said he will continue his underdog candidacy to be the first representative of an emerging economy to lead the International Monetary Fund.

Agustin Carstens said the race is not about nationality but who is most qualified, even as support lines up behind his opponent, French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde.
