Former INM director Buckley criticises chief exec O'Reilly

A former senior director of Independent News and Media who was voted off the company's board yesterday, has criticised the company's chief executive Gavin O'Reilly.

In a statement issued this afternoon, Leslie Buckley accused Mr O'Reilly of planting false and misleading information into the media, which he says was "designed solely to discredit and undermine" him.

Mr Buckley said Independent News and Media faced numerous challenges, and instead of prompting questions to the media, it would be more appropriate for the chief executive to focus all his attention on the serious matter of managing the company for the benefit of all shareholders.
