Fashion retailer Penneys has bought the Chapel House on Parnell Street in Dublin.

Chapel House, a 129,600 sq foot building which will become Penneys/Primark’s International Headquarters, is next door to Penneys’ Mary Street store.

The company’s International Buying Office is currently located there and this purchase will allow for future planned expansion.

Penneys/Primark employs in excess of 35,000 people in 220 stores across seven countries, including 38 stores in Ireland.

More than 300 staff are located in the Mary Street and Chapel House Offices in Dublin.

The vendor of Chapel House is the receiver Ken Fennell, Partner in kavanaghfennell on behalf of Astranna Limited (in receivership) which was part of the Liam Carroll-controlled Orthanc group.
