SFA: Employment laws 'discourage job creation'

The Small Firms Association has said more jobs would be created in Ireland were it not for the country's restrictive employment laws.

The group is calling on the Government to consolidate employment law into one single act.

The SFA also wants small businesses to be exempt from complying from what it describes as "overly burdensome" regulations.

Director of the Small Firms Association Patricia Callan said Ireland's current employment laws actually provides a "disincentive job creation".
