Vhi chief to step down
Vhi Healthcare chief executive Jimmy Tolan has informed the board of directors that he intends to step down to peruse a career in the private sector.
Mr Tolan’s contract requires him to give the board six month's notice.
Mr Tolan took up his position on May 1, 2008, joining the company from Fyffes plc where he was chief executive officer.
Commenting on Mr Tolan's resignation, the chairman of Vhi Healthcare Bernard Collins said: “It is with regret that the Board of Vhi Healthcare has accepted Jimmy’s resignation.
“He has been an outstanding CEO, focused on both improving Vhi customers’ healthcare outcomes and also ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of the organisation.
“He has overseen a number of innovations including the adoption of a comprehensive wellness strategy for the years ahead.”
