Shannon technology company wins €21m US Navy contract
Shannon technology company Bustec Ltd has secured a €21m contract to supply data and testing equipment for the US Navy.
It is a massive boost for the Clare company, which employs 18 people and now hopes to create a further 40 jobs.
Operating at the cutting edge of technology, Bustec also provides electronic safeguards on the International Space Station and electronic testing for the US Navy's entire fleet of aircraft.
The announcement follows confirmation that US company Zagg International is set to create 300 jobs in the county by the end of 2014.
Bustec CEO and founder Fred Blonnigen said the news was a "really amazing breakthrough" and growth of alomost 100% for each of the three years to come.
