HMV makes plea to suppliers on charges

Struggling retailer HMV has reportedly issued a plea to its suppliers to slash some of their upfront charges.

The four main music groups - Sony, EMI, Universal and Warner Music - are considering letting HMV buy some of their CDs on a sale-or-return basis, according to newspaper reports today.
