Sri Lanka’s ambassador said US rights legislation and pressure for a war crimes probe complicate efforts to bring more American investment into the country.

Sri Lanka’s ambassador said US rights legislation and pressure for a war crimes probe complicate efforts to bring more American investment into the country.

Ambassador Jaliya Wickramasuriya is travelling with executives from companies including Boeing, Caterpillar and hotelier Starwood to Sri Lanka later this week.

He said the economy is booming after civil war ended in 2009 and that Sri Lanka is seeking more US investment.
