Pub, nightclub and leisure group Dinn Ri is creating 130 new jobs in Waterford.

The company, which already employs 130 people in Carlow, is investing in four new venues at John Street in Waterford city.

The Woodman Bar was reopened before Christmas, The Foundry Waterford nightclub opens for business tonight and the third and fourth venues are scheduled to open at the end of this year.

The company said there was strong interest during the recruitment period and to date all positions have been filled by people from the local Waterford area.

"We are delighted to be able to create so many jobs in the Waterford area at such a difficult time," said Sean McLoughlin of the Dinn Ri group.

"We are confident that with this significant investment and our expertise in the sector, we will be able to develop these venues into successful businesses."
