Earthquake rocks Japan stocks
Japanese stocks nosedived today as the huge cost of Friday’s devastating earthquake and tsunami fuelled fears about the country’s economy.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 slid 633.94 points, or 6.2%, to 9,620, extending losses from Friday when the index finished 1.7% lower. Shares in major names such as Honda, Toyota and Toshiba were sharply lower.
