US retailer to open Dublin outlet
US fashion retailer Abercrombie and Fitch is to open a store in Dublin.
Abercrombie, who trade from 1,100 stores in the US, Canada and Europe,, will occupy 2,500 square metres of space at number 34 College Green, an ornate former banking hall building located directly opposite the main gates to Trinity College in the heart of Dublin’s south city centre.
The store will trade over three levels of the building which was formerly occupied by Habitat.
"Abercrombie's decision to locate here was influenced by our strong tourist base, our young population demographic and the significant level of brand recognition that exists here," said Larry Brennan of letting agents Savills.
It is hoped that the store will open in December 2011 following a significant investment in refurbishment and fit out.
