NUJ seeks meeting with Tribune management

The union representing staff at the troubled Sunday Tribune is seeking a meeting with senior management.

A receiver has been appointed to the paper and if a new owner is not found the publication will go into liquidation, which means workers are entitled to statutory redundancy only.

The National Union of Journalists met today where a motion was passed calling on Independent News and Media to pay workers ex gratia payments consistent with past redundancy situations.
