Restaurants expect boost from Valentine's Day

The Restaurant Industry has said it expects to receive a welcome boost in trade this evening, as thousands of couples across the country dine out to celebrate St Valentine's Day.

However, bookings this year are down compared with last St Valentine's Day.

But CEO of the Restaurants Association of Ireland, Adrian Cummins said this is due to the fact that the 'day of love' falls on a Monday this year.
