The former home of an iconic Grafton Street jeweller is set to reopen.

West jewellers on Dublin's Grafton Street is to reopen its doors under the ownership of jewellers John Brereton.

It is understood the end of terrace property, at number 33 on the corner with South Anne Street, was bought for around €5m in recent days.

The upmarket West jewellers shut down last year after 290 years trading in Dublin.

John Brereton first opened in Capel Street in 1916 and employs 30 people across three shops in Dublin.
