Survey shows Irish workers not taking full holidays

Almost two-thirds of Irish workers do not use up their entire allocation of annual leave, according to a new survey.

A survey from Hotels.com has revealed that 40% of Irish employees have between two and three days left over at the end of the year, while almost 17% have as much as a week remaining.

Being too busy at work is cited as the main reason for not taking holidays while some said they were afraid to take holidays because of pressures at work.

Over half of the respondents said they like to take a week off at a time, while only 14% said they take a two-week holiday.
