Bord Gais: Cold weather pushing up wholesale energy prices

Bord Gais has said there has been a rise in the price of wholesale energy last month.

Its monthly index rose by 8% in November.

Bord Gais is blaming higher commodity prices because of the cold weather and the weakness of the euro.

Energy Trading Analyst with Bord Gais Michael Kelleher said the cold snap meant suppliers are conserving stocks.
