Austria wants Ireland to raise corporation tax

Austria has raised the question of demanding that the Irish Government increases its low corporation tax rate in exchange for international help.

Austria's Finance Minister Josef Proll said that Ireland should be urged to raise the taxes, which it has always refused to do.

Ireland's jealously guarded corporation tax rate of 12.5% has been credited with helping the economic boom.
