Outgoing Northern Rock chief surrenders benefits
The outgoing chief executive of British nationalised bank Northern Rock has bowed to pressure by waiving his salary, pension and benefits for the period of his gardening leave.
Gary Hoffman came under fire when it emerged he would continue to receive up to £80,000 (€92,251) a month until April, despite leaving with immediate effect.
