Irish domain names now number 150,000

The number of dot ie domain names in Ireland has passed the 150,000 mark.

The IE Domain Registry is responsible for the management and administration of Ireland's official internet address.

Last month it reported in its 2009 annual report that its share of Ireland's domain market has continued to increase year on year.

It has also been ranked as the second safest country code domain in the world, making it an attractive choice for businesses looking for a secure place to do business online.
