Retailers warn of closures if rates are not reduced

Retail Ireland is calling on local authorities to reduce 2011 commercial rates by 20% to help retailers remain viable.

Last year saw the largest ever annual fall on record in retail sales while the value of retail sales has also fallen by 25% since 2007.
