American Airlines to cut more than a dozen flights

American Airlines said it will cut more than a dozen flights from Puerto Rico to the US and the Dominican Republic next year as a result of the economic crisis.

Spokeswoman Andrea Huguely said that the service to cities including Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Tampa will be discontinued by early April, resulting in a drop from an average of 25 flights to 18.

American Eagle also will cut an average of 33 flights to 23 flights, eliminating service to places including Haiti, Trinidad and several cities in the Dominican Republic.
