Govt underspend 'sparks crisis' in construction sector

The Construction Industry is warning of a further crisis in the sector because of a 25% Government underspend on capital investment.

The Government had insisted that the roads programme, school building and other infrastructure would assist the industry through the recession after the housing boom.

But Martin Whelan from the Construction Industry Federation has told an Oireachtas Committee that another construction crisis is on the way.
