More jobs at collapsed social housing firm Connaught are likely to be rescued today as part of a deal between administrators and a rival company.

Gloucester-based Mears, a social housing repairs provider, is expected to take on eight Connaught contracts in a move expected to save some 1,000 jobs at the firm, which appointed KPMG as administrators last week.
