Canadian civil servant to head Dept of Finance review

A Canadian civil servant is to head up the group which will carry out a review of the performance of the Department of Finance over the past ten years.

Rob Wright served as deputy minister for Finance in Canada's government, having spent more than 20 years at the top level in the country's public service.

Meanwhile, Dutch government official Hans Borstlap along with former Secretary General of the department of Agriculture John Malone will also carry out the review.

It will involve an evaluation of the department's performance over the past decade, as well as examining how the Government forecasts, and risk analysis failed to detect the problems in the economy, and predict the banking crisis.
