Quinn Insurance operating profitably despite deficit

Quinn Insurance group says that despite a deficit of €788m last year, its now operating profitably.

More figures will emerge today from the publication of the Central Bank's annual review for the insurance sector.

The company says last year's underwriting losses were mainly as a result of increased flood claims and the Governments health levy.

Administrators at Quinn Insurance have moved to reassure the public about the current financial viability of the company.
