US politicians discuss economic issues in Dublin

A delegation of politicians from the US is arriving in Dublin today for a series of meetings with Oireachtas members on the economy and banking.

Representatives of major US corportations such as Kraft Foods and GlaxoSmithKline will also attend the Transatlantic Leadership Forum.

It is understood that key economic issues affecting Ireland and the States, as well as banking in Europe, and the euro will be on the agenda.

The theme of the forum - which runs until Saturday - is The European Union: Prospects for the Future.
