The Irish Small & Medium Enterprises Association has accused the Government of sabotaging the drive for competitiveness by "continuing to foist random cost increases on industry".

At the announcement of the July inflation figures, ISME warned the Government that its lack of a comprehensive economic policy and its “it’ll be alright on the night” attitude to economic recovery could scupper the recovery and set the country back years.
