Minister predicts growth in agriculture sector

Minister for Agriculture Brendan Smith has today predicted an improved outlook for farming this year.

Speaking at the opening of the Tullamore show in Co Offaly this afternoon, Minister Smith said things are looking a great deal brighter for agriculture after a very difficult few years.

Teagasc has estimated that the value of farm output will increase by more than €300m this year, when compared with 2009.
