Drogheda food firm scoops €2m Tesco contract
Nature’s Best Ltd, the Drogheda-based producer of fresh chilled convenience foods, has agreed a €2m deal with Tesco which will result in 25 new jobs, it has been announced.
The deal will see 24 new own-label fresh salad products being offered across Tesco stores nationwide.
Nature’s Best Sales Director Gus O'Reilly said: "This is a great reward in a very tough business climate for the hard-work and effort that we undertake at Nature’s Best to supply quality produce. It is a tremendous vote of confidence in Nature’s Best and has allowed us to employ an additional 25 people. Because these products are produced in Drogheda they are on sale next day in Tesco stores nationwide."
Drogheda Chamber of Commerce Director Patricia Rooney said: "The Drogheda Chamber of Commerce is delighted to hear of this new contract between Nature’s Best and Tesco both of whom we count as valued members of this Chamber."
Helen Dwyer, Tesco Vegetable Buyer, said: "We are delighted to be stocking this range of lunch “grab and go” own-label products for customers. They are proving very popular and sourcing from Natures Best now gives us added local freshness and quality."
Nature’s Best Ltd. is the leading Irish Salad manufacturing company that produces both ‘Own Label’ and branded product for major supermarkets in Ireland.
The company operates from a 70,000 square foot, purpose-built factory in Drogheda, where it employs 200 people.
