Kelloggs to create 50 jobs in Ireland

Kelloggs, the producer of breakfast cereals, has announced the creation of 50 jobs in Ireland.

The company is recruiting for senior positions in marketing, finance and salesat its European headquarters in Swords, while its Irish business is also recruiting a number of sales people to join its Irish sales team.

Kellogg currently employs about 200 people in Ireland, in both the European headquarters and local Irish business, and with the addition of the 50 positions, expects to grow its workforce to over 250 by the end of the year.

The company established its European headquarters in Swords in 2005.

"Our vision is to become the food company of choice and through our European headquarters we are building a centre of excellence here in Dublin, which supports our teams in their local markets," said Tim Mobsby, President of Kellogg Europe.

"Ireland is a great place to do business. We are able to attract highly skilled professionals in this market and we are confident that we can continue to build our functional teams here to sustain growth across our European business."

Kellogg employs approximately 31,000 people worldwide, with approximately 7,050 employed in Europe.

The company announced global sales of nearly $13bn in 2009, with the European business accounting for sales of $2.6bn.
