The threat of a strike by BT workers in Britain was averted today when the telecoms giant reached a deal with union leaders for an “unprecedented” three-year pay rise worth more than 9%.

The threat of a strike by BT workers in Britain was averted today when the telecoms giant reached a deal with union leaders for an “unprecedented” three-year pay rise worth more than 9%.

The Communication Workers Union balloted its members for strikes and was threatening industrial action despite the prospect of a legal challenge by BT.
