Handling company announces 50 new jobs

Ground handling company Sky Handling Partner (SHP) has created 50 new jobs at its main base at Dublin Airport, it was announced today.

The new jobs, which consist of check-in and aircraft service positions in the company’s ground operations division, have come on-stream over the last three months.

The new positions are a result of increases to the flight schedules of the company’s customer airlines and brings the total number employed by SHP at Dublin and Shannon airports to over 300.

Managing Director Darren Moloney said the company was delighted to have recruited additional staff and said the outlook for the ground handling industry has shown some signs of stability following the first six months of 2010.

"We are pleased to be playing a part in supporting the local economy through job creation given the difficulties the company faced earlier in the year, particularly due to the widespread disruption caused by the volcanic ash cloud," Mr Moloney said.

Sky Handling Partner is an Irish-registered company owned by French firm Groupe Crit, which employs approximately 4,600 people worldwide.
