Prices fall in UK

The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) in the UK fell to 3.4% in May from 3.7% in April, official figures showed today.

The headline rate of Retail Prices Index inflation fell to 5.1% in May from 5.3% in April, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said.

The underlying rate of Retail Prices Index (RPI) inflation fell to 5.1% in May from 5.4% in April, the ONS said.
