Strike pay was increased today to British Airways cabin crew as they launched their latest wave of five-day walkouts in their bitter row with the airline.

Unite said it would pay its members £45 (€54.35) a day, up from £30 (€36.23) in previous strikes, and was considering offering interest-free loans of £1,000 (€1,208) for hardship cases.
