The Irish Stock Exchange followed world trends today, climbing 60.16 points to 3.052.02 by midday.

In the financial sector did reasonably well, with Irish Life and Permanent up 6c to €1.95 and Allied Irish Banks increasing 3c to €1.01. Bank of Ireland lost 2c to 74c.
