Quinn Insurance CEO to step down

Colin Morgan is to step down as CEO of Quinn Insurance, it was announced today.

A statement from the company, said Mr Morgan "has decided to leave the company to pursue other opportunities."

"After almost seven years here I have decided to leave Quinn Insurance," Mr Morgan said.

"I have enjoyed the successes and challenges at Quinn Insurance and firmly believe that this business will recover from its current difficulties."

The company has been in administration since March after an application by the financial regulator Matthew Elderfield amid fears over its ability to pay a large influx of claims.

The administrators told employees last month that 800 staff would be let go from the insurance business.

Michael McAteer, Joint Administrator of Quinn Insurance said: "We would like to acknowledge Colin's contribution to QIL over the past seven years including the period since the company entered administration and wish him all the best in the future."
