Aer Lingus have revealed a 27% fall in passenger numbers to 689,000 for the month of April as compared to the same time last year.

Aer Lingus have revealed a 27% fall in passenger numbers to 689,000 for the month of April as compared to the same time last year.

Their numbers also showed that their short haul numbers fell 26%, while long haul figures collapsed by 35%.

The airline has blamed the ash clouds from the Iceland volcano saying that there were seven days last month where Aer Lingus did not operate all of its scheduled flights.
