Google to launch its own digital books

Google is entering the lucrative digital books market by launching its own online store this summer.

The search engine giant wants to compete with the likes of Apple and Amazon - which both dominate the market.

The firm said so-called e-books bought through Google Editions won't be limited to a particular device used to read the text.
