Senior management at failed US investment bank Lehman Brothers massaged the company's accounts to conceal the true state of its finances from investors, a court-appointed examiner has found.

The report also found sufficient evidence of negligence by Lehman Brothers auditors Ernst and Young to support a claim by Lehman for professional malpractice.
