French company Veolia has pledged to boost profits over the next three to five years, as it aims to cut costs.

French company Veolia has pledged to boost profits over the next three to five years, as it aims to cut costs.

The utility company also wants to dispose of a billion euros in assets.

The company said 2009 net profit rose 44% - to €584m.

Veolia runs the LUAS system in Dublin, as well as numerous waste services across the country.
