New appointment to board of IL&P

Irish Life & Permanent Group Holdings today announces the appointment of Bernard Collins as a non-executive director of the Group.

Collins is a former vice president of international operations and director of the international board of Boston Scientific Corporation.

He is currently a non-executive director of IDA Ireland and a number of other companies in the medical device/life science sectors.

He is also the current chairman of the VHI.

Commenting on the appointment, chairman Gillian Bowler said: “We are delighted to welcome to the Board a business leader of the calibre of Bernard Collins.

“His wide and varied experience of business in Ireland and internationally will further strengthen our Board as we build on our successes and tackle the significant challenges faced by our group in the years ahead.”
