Competition Authority chairman appointed Financial Services Ombudsman

Bill Prasifka - current chairman of the Competition Authority - has been appointed as Financial Services Ombudsman.

The office of the ombudsman ensures that complaints from customers of financial institutions comply with rules set out by statute.

Mr Prasifka is expected to take up his appointment by the end of next month.
