There were further tentative signs of recovery in the battered industrial sector today as official figures revealed the smallest annual decline in production since the financial crisis struck.

There were further tentative signs of recovery in the battered industrial sector today as official figures revealed the smallest annual decline in production since the financial crisis struck.

Industrial production rose by 0.4% between October and November, with the year-on-year decline easing to 6% – the best result since September 2008, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
