France's parliament approves La Poste plan
France’s parliament has approved a plan to transform national postal service La Poste into a limited liability company, a project that the opposition left denounced as a privatisation attempt.
The plan was approved in the National Assembly following a green light from the Senate in December.
The change, which will come into force on March 1, is designed to help prepare La Poste for the opening of the European postal industry to full competition in 2011.
