ISEQ up slightly
The ISEQ index of Irish shares climbed 16.41 points to 3,0987.93 today.
The financials all gained ground. Both Allied Irish Banks and Irish Life & Permanent improved 11c to €1.61 and €3.51 respectively. Bank of Ireland was up 16c to €1.69.
Elan enjoyed the biggest gain of the day, jumping 28c to €5.05. Tullow was up 15c to €14.72. Dragon Oil was 10c better off on €4.46.
The construction sector has contrasting fortunes. CRH fell 46c to €18.29, but Kingspan was 23c up €6.48.
There were some losses elsewhere. Merrion Pharmacies lost 24c to €3.52. Kerry Group slipped 20c to €21.40, Paddy Power was 14c down to €25.25 and Irish Continental Group slid 20c to €21.40.
