New talks bid to avert BA strike

Fresh talks are to be held in a bid to avert the threat of strikes by British Airways cabin crew, it was announced today.

Unite said the union and the airline had agreed to meet to try to find a negotiated settlement to the bitter row over jobs, pay and conditions which almost led to a 12-day walkout over Christmas.
