Iceland's president has said he is not ready to sign legislation that would allow the UK and Holland to be repaid the €3.3bn lost when the island's banks collapsed.

The deal is unpopular with taxpayers who feel they are footing the bill for mistakes made by financial firms.

President Grimsson said he needs time before deciding whether to sign it into law.
