London market watchdog hands out £34.8m in fines
The London market watchdog handed out a record £34.8m (€39m) worth of fines during 2009, research showed today.
The fines levied on companies by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) for breaching its rules were 53% higher than in 2008, according to City law firm Reynolds Porter Chamberlain.
